13 police recruits killed in Iraq suicide attack

Baghdad, Jan 3 (IANS) At least 13 police recruits were killed and 15 injured when three suicide bombers attacked a police training centre in Iraq’s Salahudin province, Xinhua news agency reported on Sunday.

The attack occurred on Saturday night when the three entered the major military airbase where the centre is located and detonated their explosive belts, Xinhua said.

The centre houses trainees from Iraq’s Nineveh province who are preparing to recapture Islamic State-held areas.
