14 die in Kenya terror attack

Nairobi, July 7 (IANS) At least 14 people were killed and several others injured when Al Shabaab militants opened fire near a market in Kenya, police said on Tuesday.

“The attack occurred near a livestock market in Mandera county in Kenya. Fourteen people are dead,” Capital News quoted a senior police officer as saying.

Police headquarters here said a detailed report of the attack was yet to be received.

The incident is the latest in a series of attacks in the county and was blamed on Al Shabaab militants who have previously executed more than 200 people in the region.
