Modi to visit Kerala on December 15

Kasargode (Kerala), Nov 23 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kerala on December 15 – for the first time after taking office last year.

Addressing reporters here, state Bharatiya Janata Party president V. Muraleedharan said Modi will unveil the statue of R. Sankar, who was chief minister in 1962-64, at Kollam.

Sankar was also the president of the Congress party in Kerala.

But he is regarded as the person who transformed the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam into a powerful social organisation of the Hindu Ezhava community.
