Rs.10 lakh looted in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, Nov 23 (IANS) Five armed men on Monday looted Rs.10 lakh after shooting the cahier of a trading company who was on his way to a bank here.

The incident occurred in Modi Nagar town when cashier Gaurav came out with the cash from the residence of Ram Kumar Gupta, the trader.

As the cashier was about to leave in a car, the robbers who were in hiding rushed to him and snatched the money bag.

When the cashier resisted them, one of the robbers fired from a pistol, critically injuring him. After taking the bag, the robbers escaped on two motorcycles.

The owner of the firm who rushed out after hearing the gun shots alerted the police who took the injured cashier to a hospital, said Superintendent of Police R.P. Pandey.
