Bantwal: Four friends, Sundara Gowda (32), Chidananda Gowda (30), Satish Gowda (35) and Buddha Naik aka Muddanna (57) had gone on a hunting trip into a forest at Natti on Tuesday.
An accidental gunshot from Satish Gowda’s hands had killed Muddanna on the spot. Others brought the body to his home, giving a different version. The police came to know about it and began investigations. The three involved in hunting went into hiding.
On Thursday night, all the three along with Venkappa Gowda (49), the owner of the gun that had fired off, were nabbed at the Mani junction by the police. The four of them were reportedly planning to flee to a distant place to evade arrest.
Venkappa Gowda is said to be an ex-Serviceman. The gun he owned had been secured from Jammu and Kashmir while he had served in the armed forces, said informed sources.
