Sri Lankan president has papal audience

Vatican City, Dec 14 (IANS/AKI) Pope Francis on Monday received Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena at the Vatican where they discussed the peace process in the island nation, the Holy See said.

Francis and Sirisena also exchanged views on the environment and the landmark deal signed on Saturday at the UN climate change conference in Paris.

Sirisena later met the Vatican’s second-in-command, secretary of state Pietro Parolin.
