President greets Bhutan on its National Day

New Delhi, Dec 16 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday extended his greetings and felicitations to Bhutan on its National Day.

“It gives me immense pleasure to convey to Your Majesty, the esteemed members of the Royal family and the people of Bhutan warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your National Day,” Mukherjee said in his message to King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

“Our exemplary bilateral relations based on deep mutual trust and understanding have stood the test of time,” he said.

“Over the years, our close bonds have strengthened and our wide ranging cooperation has diversified in all areas of our shared interest”.

Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is a land of monasteries and celebrates its National Day on December 17.
