17 dead in Haiti road accident

Port-au-Prince (Haiti), Aug 16 (IANS) At least 17 people, mostly women, were killed and 18 injured in a road accident in Haiti late Saturday, authorities said.

The country’s civil protection agency said the accident happened at near the town of Limonade, 230 km northeast from here, Xinhua news agency reported.

“A truck was trying to avoid a motorcycle carrying three people when it flipped over onto its side on national highway No. 4,” the agency said on Twitter.
