Udupi: St. Thomas Orthodox Syrian Church, Sastan celebrates annual feast

Udupi: St Thomas Orthodox Syrian Church, Sastan celebrated annual feast with religious fervour on December 30.

William Dsouza & Fly from Pandeshwara was the ‘Pirjenth’ (main sponsor). Fr PA Johnson led the Holy Mass on the main altar along with Fr Ashwin Fernandes and Fr David Crasta. Fr David delivered the homily. The Mass was followed by grand procession around the Church, led by Fr PA Johnson. Rev Fr Lawrence Dsouza led the melodious Choir and the Feast ended with Final Blessing.

Vespers began with welcoming the ‘Pirjenth’ at 6:30pm, on December 29 which was followed by evening prayers. Fr VC Jose delivered the Sermon. Various stalls were put up in the parish grounds which were thronged by people after the Holy Mass.

Fr CA Isac and Fr Abraham Kuriakose were also present. At the end Fr Noel Lewis the parish priest of St Thomas Orthodox Syrian Church extended the festive greetings to all and thanked various people who rendered their valuable service in the form of donations and helping for the same in various capacities.
