Pakistan condemns Istanbul blast

ArrayIslamabad, Jan 12 (IANS) Pakistan on Tuesday strongly condemned the bomb blast in Turkish city Istanbul’s historic Sultanahmet Square that killed at least 10 people and left around 15 others injured, a media report said.

“We extend our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones and pray for the speediest recovery of the injured,” Xinhua reported quoting the Pakistani foreign ministry’s statement.

The statement also said that Pakistan stood in strong solidarity with the government and people of Turkey in their struggle against terrorism.

“We are certain that Turkey would overcome this scourge with its characteristic resolve and determination,” it added.
