18-year-old Girl Jumps into Swarna River: Body retrieved

Udupi: After two days of intensive search, the body of the 18-year-old girl Chaithra was found in the Seetha river bank at Haradi on Friday, September 30.

Chaithra (18) was the daughter of Chandrashekar, an auto driver from Puttur, Ambagilu near Santhekatte.

Chaithra had jumped into the Swarna River from the KG Road Bridge on September 28 evening. She had left her bag and sandals on the bridge and jumped into the river. Passersby saw the bag and sandals on the bridge and informed the Brahmavar Police.

Expert divers and personnel from the fire and Emergency service continuously carried our the search operation. On Friday morning the locals found that the body floating in the Seetha River bank near Haradi Brahmavar.

The body has been taken to the government hospital for post-mortem.

Brahmavara Police visited the spot.
