19-year-old Pillion rider killed in hit and run accident
Kundapur: A 19-year-old pillion rider died and his friend was injured when an unidentified vehicle knocked their motorcycle down near Unity Hall Kundapur on December 5 late night.
The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Shetty (19), son of Shambhu Shetty, a resident of Moodubage near Kundapur. He was a second-year student of industrial training institute (ITI) at Bidkalkatte.
According to sources, Sandeep Shetty was working part time in a hotel to support his family and his studies. On Monday night after finishing their work, Sandeep and his friend Subhash were returning home on the bike, Subhash was riding the bike. When they reached near Unity Hall, an unidentified vehicle knocked down their motorcycle and fled from the spot. Sandeep was rushed to the nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead. Subhash is out of danger.
Kundapur Traffic Police registered the case.
