2-year-old boy feared dead after Speed Boat capsizes at Panambur

Mangaluru: A 2-year-old boy has been feared dead after the speed boat which the boy along with his family was riding, capsized at Panambur here on October 5.

The boy has been identified as Mohammed Shahadan, son of Sanayil.


According to sources, Sanayil, a resident of Natekal came to Panambur beach to enjoy with his family. The members of Sanayil’s family were riding on the speed boat which capsized due to a technical fault. All the 7 members including the 2-year-old child fell in the water. All of them were wearing life Jackets. Since the boy was wearing a large size life Jacket he slipped and fell into the water when the boat capsized.

Lifeguards were able to rescue six members but Mohammed Shahadan had already drowned. Expert divers and the lifeguards are searching for Shahadan.

Family members say that the large size life jacket has caused the boy to drown.
