Kolkata, April 2 (IANS) Courier company DTDC Express plans to invest USD 80-100 million over the next 12-18 months in expansion and technology, a top official said on Saturday.

“We will be investing USD 80-100 million over the next 12-18 months and will be raising capital for the same within next 12-15 months to strengthen our infrastructure in operations, channel partners, sales, human resource and so on and to adopt new technology,” executive director Abhishek Chakraborty said.

The Bengaluru-headquartered company has picked up a minority stake in e-commerce driven technology start-up Llama Logisol Pvt Ltd, to help itself adopt disruptive technologies in its future growth segments of e-commerce and e-fulfilment.

The technology start up offers free pickup and packaging of parcels and ships them to the customers’ destination of choice, Chakraborty said.
