22-year-old MGM student Prasad Poojary Dies During Trekking

Kundapur: A 22-year-old student of MGM College, Udupi drowned after he slipped and fell into the Koosalli Waterfalls during trekking near Byndoor here on April 10.

The deceased has been identified as Prasad Poojary (22) final year BCA Student of Mahatma Gandhi College Udupi.


A 70 member NSS team of the college went to the Koosalli falls for Trekking. They started their journey in the morning, reached the waterfalls in the afternoon. Prasad Poojary and two other students when playing on a rock, Prasad suddenly slipped and fell into the water. Immediately other students tried to save Prasad but in vein.

Later with the help of the locals Prasad’s body was recovered from the falls and sent for post-mortem.

A case has been registered in Byndoor Police Station.
