24-year-old Youth Killed as speeding tanker hits bike

Kundapur: A 24-year-old bike rider was killed when the bike he was riding was hit by a speeding tanker at Ankadakatte near Koteshwar here on August 31.


The deceased has been identified as Nagappa Shiggav (24), a native of Naragunda of Dharwad district.

He was working as a daily wage labourer in Koteshwar. The Pillion rider has been seriously injured in the accident and his identity is not yet known.

According to police, the tanker driver in his bid to overtake the bike, lost control and hit the bike. After the accident the driver of the tanker did not stop the vehicle, he was later intercepted near Kota with the help of public.

The Injured pillion rider has been admitted to a private hospital.

A case has been registered in the Kundapur Traffic Police Station.
