5 dead, including gunman, after standoff in Washington state

Belfair (US): A gunman killed four people in a home in rural Washington state before fatally shooting himself after an hourslong standoff, authorities have said.

The gunman had called authorities to say he shot and killed his family near the town of Belfair, across the Puget Sound from Seattle, Mason County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ryan Spurling said. A girl who survived has been taken to the hospital for an evaluation.

The gunman “apparently came outside the home and shot himself,” Sheriff Casey Salisbury said. “It’s a terrible tragedy.”

Authorities negotiated with him for about three hours before a SWAT team stormed in to the house in a heavily wooded area just off a gravel road and found the people dead. The gunman shot himself, Spurling said.

Jack Pigott, who lives down the road, said he heard gunshots Thursday night but none yesterday.

The couple who lived in the house about 25 miles southwest of Seattle were in their 40s and had been married for four or five years, Pigott said.

The wife had two teenage sons who were adopted from Russia during a previous marriage. She also had a daughter who was adopted from China.

Pigott said the husband had a heating and air conditioning contractor business. He had recently been hospitalised, Pigott said, but he didn’t know why. When he returned home, he was on a lot of medications, Pigott said of the man.

Pigott said it was common for the family to do shooting practice and that’s what he thought when he heard the gunshots. He says residents know each other in the area that has homes with large lots with room for horses.

The SWAT team went in around 12:30 pm (local time), Spurling said. Officers said they had 11 buildings to clear on the property but reported they had found the bodies shortly after entering the first building.

The shooting comes days after a 26-year-old man shot and killed his parents and two younger sisters before taking his own life at the family’s home in Phoenix.

  1. Deplorable and pathetic!

ANY names, religion, caste, kundali, jathaka, vaastu, PP no, Social security no, dental records, DNA details of the shooter posted out here? Will our Rampa question this and declare – ‘RIP Western media’?

Or, is he waiting for a couple of days until the post-mortem is conducted to copy-paste such details from some source?

OR, is he purely interested in what is smuggled through ಮಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ಧಾನ – which happens to be some steel plates, aluminium vessels, some 42″ inch TV’s (hidden in the back-pocket of Jeans) and some rolled-gold items?

TONS and tons of drugs are smuggled into the USA on a daily/weekly basis. Do we hear a bleat from Yumreeki Rampa demanding details of the smugglers?

Oops! I forgot! The USA has no know-all Arnaba Goooswami and the COUNTRY cares 2 hoots whether John Doe/Jayden Smith/Juan Suvares/Bartholomew Baptista Jr. or Abu Shawarma Bin Falafel smuggled crap in!

    ONLY our Yumreeki Rampai is!

After all, for him – Rampameva JAYATE. 🙂
Who am I to burst his bubble?

    Jai Rampa Ki
    Rampameva Jayate.

  2. Joker Pinto continues his struggle with ‘logic’!! LOL Even after multiple attempts, he doesn’t seem to understand the difference between an isolated incident and a trend!! When a particular criminal act is repeatedly committed by a same set of people, it is called trend. This horrendous crime is an isolated incident and we don’t hear it every other day. On the other hand, mangaluru vimaana nildaana incidents take place on weekly basis if not daily basis. And, EVERY incident involved people of certain background. Any sane person will understand this simple logic and start looking at the trend and root causes. I understand how this is a rocket science for Praveena Pinto!! smiles….How does Beef club produce so many geniuses? LOL

    • Joker Pinto continues his struggle with ‘logic’!! LOL Even after multiple attempts, he doesn’t seem to understand the difference between an isolated incident and a trend! ….. This horrendous crime is an isolated incident and we don’t hear it every other day- Maha Joker Rampai

What? An “ISOLATED INCIDENT”? You OK enough to read this?

The home front: So many people die annually from gunfire in the US that the death toll between 1968 and 2011 eclipses all wars ever fought by the country. According to research by Politifact, there were about 1.4 million firearm deaths in that period, compared with 1.2 million US deaths in every conflict from the War of Independence to Iraq.

According to figures from the US Department of Justice and the Council on Foreign Affairs, 11,385 people died on average annually in firearm incidents in the US between 2001 and 2011.
In the same period, an average of 517 people were killed annually in terror-related incidents. Removing 2001, when 9/11 occurred, from the calculation produces an annual average of just 31.
Other media (the upright + uptight Western Media, of course) post almost the same figures since, needless to say, the source is invariably the same.

http://www.alternet.org/civil-liberties/us-death-toll-firearms-suggests-america-country-gripped-civil-war (Report was posted on Dec 2, 2015)

“There have been 355 mass shootings in 2015 alone. In 2015, there have been more mass shootings than days.”

During his presidency, President Barack Obama has had to deliver statements on gun violence 15 times.

After a gunman opened fire at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College, killing nine people and injuring seven, a visibly upset Obama said the shootings were becoming all too routine.

“The reporting is routine,” Obama said. “My response here at this podium ends up being routine, the conversation in the aftermath of it. We’ve become numb to this.”
EVEN the POTUS said that “we” (Americans) have “become numb to this” and goes on to qualify it FURTHER by saying that his responses are ‘ROUTINE”!

And our know-all/polymath Indian Joker goes on to describe such incidents as – “AN ISOLATED INCIDENT”!

Rampa… I’m rolling on the ground…. LMAO….. clutching my sides…. Ouch! Stomach cramps… My wife is attending services in Church. Whom do I call for help? Gasp gasp..

But somehow, I manage to dial the first hospital (Fr. Mullers) I get:

      Me: Ring ring… (in the background… gasp groan… ouch….)

      Sister: ಫಾದರ್ ಮುಳ್ಳೆರ್ಸ್…. ಸಿಸ್ಟರ್ ರೋಸೀ ಮಾರಿ ಸ್ಪೀಕಿಂಗ್..

Me: Sister…. me Praveena having stomach cramps….
… me laughing too much.. too many Jokes me reading from our Rampa.
      Stomach spasms (‘Muzzil catch shishter’)… I need Carisoprodol jabs.. .. I need an Ambulance… ಈಗ!.. Please sister..

THUD!
Well, Rampa… somehow.. like Leonardo Di Caprio in the Revenent, somehow.. I managed to crawl off the floor….. crawl and crawl to my comp.. lying some hardly a metre away. (Luckily, there was no snow and even more thankfully, NO Bear).

I somehow managed to press the power button for some 8 seconds. And off the power went.

AND believe it or not…. in less than another 8 seconds from thence, my stomach cramps went away. Man ya Rampa…. you should go easy on such jokes! 🙂
On another note (a ‘get-well’ one, of course – YOU should SERIOUSLY STOP asking for details on people of a certain community involved in petty incidents/misdemeanors – at most – at MIA/elsewhere.

The problem is that your consistently INCONSISTENT when DEMANDING such details (published by people in BUSINESS & not an ordinary Joe like me) when it comes to a certain community/communities – ESP when claiming to be a frigging ‘atheist’! I’ve heard of double standards. But then, with YOU – lol… i have to raise the ‘double’ to the power of two!

EVERY country and community has its/their own problems. AND, a renowned Rampa like you ain’t gonna change no darn thing by DEMANDING like that Arnaba – “Da COUNTRY wants to know.. da Country Wants to know”. It doesn’t bode well for you to rant – India is a 3rd world country… blah blah…… some 10 times a day!

Out here, there are so many OTHER Indians settled in the West and I have never or seldom heard them utter EVEN something disparaging (let alone insulting) about India. Fine… not to say that India is some super-duper power like the US. ALL of us crib…. but then, they KNOW what to speak, when and ESPECIALLY WHERE!

Arnaba has done NOTHING for the Country (except increasing revenue for Times Now & thereby himself!)

AND you, you’ve done NOTHING except make me laugh so much that I need to seek medical intervention most of the times (when I read your jokes on EYT).

      God bless you, Rampa.

And I sincerely hope that better sense will prevail sometime soon. Even later is better than NEVER.

Cheerio, Rampa. (Although I have no cramps now, my abs are a bit sore.) I need to lay down for a while and get them back in ship-shape to see how you respond to this.

I mean, in case you come up with a cracker of a joke such as today.. “isolated incident”……..:) PHEW!

Hey…. JUST thinking of that joke is making my abs cramp-up again. 🙁
