New Delhi, Nov 24 (IANS) Short film-maker Ullhas PR on Tuesday filed a police complaint against Aamir Khan for “scaring people” with remarks that suggest the film star and his family view themselves as living in an atmosphere of grave “insecurity”.

“We have received the complaint. In his complaint he (Ullhas) expressed his dissatisfaction over Aamir Khan’s remarks,” Deputy Commissioner of Police B.S. Gurjar told IANS.

“I also live in this country but I’ve never felt like Aamir. The celebrities should think before giving statements,” Gurjar cited Ullhas as writing in his complaint.

Ullhas told IANS: “We have certain fundamental duties… which say that we should maintain harmony in the country. So when celebrities give such type of statements, they should first mention which society they are talking about where people are living in scared conditions?”

Ullhas had earlier lodged a complaint against Khan following the release of his film ‘PK’ in which the film star referred to policemen as “thulla”.

“Celebrities should think about their status and duties before making such statements. If they can’t help bring peace and prosperity in the nation, they shouldn’t scare people by speaking about intolerance and other issues,” Ullhas added.

Aamir Khan on Monday had said at the Ramnath Goenka Awards ceremony that there had lately been such a growing sense of alarm and insecurity in society that his wife wondered whether they should leave the country.

Khan’s comments have been criticised by the BJP as well as some members of the Bollywood film fraternity like Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal and Ashoke Pandit. However, Congress and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have supported Khan’s views.
