ABVP Activists Assault Student for speaking to Girl from other faith

Kundapur: ABVP activists assaulted a college student for speaking with a girl from the other faith at Kundapur here on October 3.

The victim has been identified as Hakeeb, a student of a reputed college in Kundapur. Hakeeb is pursuing final year BCA.

According to sources on October 3, Hakeeb along with his friend Azaan were coming out from the college after finishing their exams. A girl student while passing by inquired Hakeeb about the exam. A group of ABVP activists led by Sashikanth noticed the girl speaking to Hakeeb and thrashed him. Hakeeb who was injured in the assault has been admitted to the Government Hospital in Kundapur.

The entire incident was recorded in a college CCTV. Kundpaur PSI Naseer Hussain visited the college. After studying the CCTV footage he collected all the necessary information.

Speaking to Mangalorean.com PSI Naseer Hussain said, “Keeping in mind the future of the students the college warns them once or twice. Earlier when Sashikanth had created nuisance I had warned him. But this time, he has assaulted a student from the other faith. We have informed the parents and through the CCTV footage have confirmed that Sashikanth assaulted Hakeeb for talking to the girl”.

After getting the information about the assault. The president of Campus Front of India has demanded to file a FIR against Sashikanth. If the police will not register a FIR against Sashikanth the CFI will hold a protest, said the president od CFI.
