Aftab Shivdasani nostalgic over ‘Mast’ memories

Mumbai, Oct 15 (IANS) As “Mast” — a film about a love story between an actress and a student — clocked 16 years of its existence on Thursday, its actor Aftab Shivdasani walked down the memory lane and said it has been a “beautiful journey” till now.

“Today, 16 years ago, ‘Mast’ released…What a beautiful journey it has been! #16yearsofmast #nostalgia,” Aftab, whose career gained momentum in showbiz after the film, tweeted.

After exploring the Hindi film world as a child artist in films like “Mr. India” and “ChaalBaaz”, Aftab made his adult acting debut with the 1999 film opposite Urmila Matondkar.

The Ram Gopal Varma directorial presented a fresh story with some innocence at its heart. The film’s music like “Ruki ruki thi zindagi” also became an instant hit.

However, despite having a successful debut, Aftab could not establish a strong ground in Bollywood with flop films like “Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega”, “Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe” and “Pyaasa”.

After a low phase, Aftab hit the jackpot again with sex comedies “Masti” and “Kyaa Kool Hain Hum”. He is now awaiting the release of third instalment of the film — “Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3”.
