Amit Shah, Jaitley visit Apollo Hospital

Chennai, Oct 12 (IANS) BJP President Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday visited the Apollo Hospital to enquire about the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalaltihaa’s health.

The 68-year-old Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital on September 22 with fever and dehydration.

The Bharatiya Janata Party leaders spent some 20 minutes in the hospital. They did not speak to the media.

It is not known if they met Jayalalithaa or only spoke to doctors and AIADMK leaders.

Later, a party statement said that Amit Shah and Jaitley visited Jayalalitha “to convey our party’s good wishes for her speedy recovery and long healthy life”.

“We sincerely hope that she would resume her duties soon in the service of the people of Tamil Nadu,” it added.
