Patna, June 17 (IANS) BJP president Amit Shah will take lessons from a Muslim yoga teacher at a special camp here on June 21 – International Yoga Day.

“Yoga experts Mohd Tamanna and Ashok Sarkar will teach yoga to Shah at Moinul Haque stadium here,” Ajit Kumar, in-charge of Bihar-Jharkhand Patanjali Yogpeeth, said on Tuesday.

He said Tamanna will give tips on yoga to Shah.

At least half a dozen union ministers from Bihar, including Ravi Shankar Prasad, Rajeev Pratap Rudy, Radha Mohan Singh and Ram Kirpal Yadav, will also attend the yoga camp in Patna.

Shah’s plans to attend the yoga camp here has become a political issue.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and said they had made yoga a matter of “show-off and publicity”.

He termed BJP’s move to hold a yoga camp on June 21 a “drama”, following which Telecommunications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad advised Nitish Kumar to practice ‘pranayam’ for peace of mind.

  1. “Very Surprising” – says AS mathew
Well, a quick look at Amit Shaw tells us enough about his exercise routine the same way a quick look AS Mathew’s posts tell us enough on his reading habits!! smiles…

    • Original Paimaam,

Yes, the ‘pot belly” Amit Shaw reveals a lot about yoga, as vividly as your RSS posts reveal about your being an “atheist”!

      • I am an agnostic. I know – you don’t understand the difference as you make up things in your own mind!! LOL

        • Sir, you are neither an atheist nor an agnostic. You are an actor, acting to be a saviour of Hindu Religion, from some imaginary extinction.

You are neither a Christian nor a Muslim, nor even a Hindu! For, you are not worried about the ill effects of Hindu brinkmanship of RSS for political selfishness, at the cost of welfare of Hindu Religion. You are simply a fake Hindu, but a real RSS political upstart!

  2. The (Congress) Karnataka Social welfare minister, H Anjaneya, was asked if his department would organise yoga exercises for some students.

His response: “Yoga is only for those who do not have any daily activity. People who work in farms, those who sweat it out, cannot think of doing yoga, can they? They do not have time to exercise or even walk in the open.”

As much as the globetrotter’s supporters would not like to hear this, the Minister has spoken the truth.

The farmers have been working so hard on the farms, they are physically super fit. The farmers have hardly known diabetes, and many other ailments. And bright and cheerful too (unless the lack of rains and unrepayable loans make them depressed).

Do they ever do yoga? Do they need it?

Yoga in India, like Bharatanatyam, has been the domain of the rich and lazy. Like the members of the trader community.

But then traders have been too busy earning money to worry about Yoga! Compare the health of the trader community members to that of the farming community members.

  3. “Yoga in India, like Bharatanatyam, has been the domain of the rich and lazy’ – says Manga(L)

As I wrote a few days ago, the only people opposing Yoga seem to be the usual culprits who can’t grow out of their old mind set of hating sanaathana dharma and native traditions. After all, self-hating mindset was taught by european masters for centuries and they are very proud of the ignorance. So, farmers don’t need yoga and it proves that yoga and bharathanaatyam are the domain of rich and lazy!! Wonderful analysis and conclusion!! Also, Manga(L) keeps spewing his hatred towards ‘trader’ community (another sign of his ajeerna towards gujarathis and a local community!!) in almost every post. What a loving person he is!! smiles…

    • After all, self-hating mindset was aught by European masters for centuries…. – RamPU

And that, in a nutshell, explains why you dropped your Jhomblass chaddis and ran away to the West. Well done ya Rampu. 🙂
