Army chief in Chennai to review relief work

Chennai, Dec 4 (IANS) Army chief General Dalbir Singh visited Chennai on Friday to review the rescue and relief work by the military in flood-hit Tamil Nadu.

Gen Singh reached Chennai from Sri Lanka where he was on a visit.

The army, navy and air force were pressed into relief and rescue work after the heaviest rains in some 100 years caused unprecedented floods in Chennai and three other districts.
