Bantwal: 19-year-old youth Dies in Road Mishap at Vagga

Bantwal: In a tragic incident, a 19-year-old youth died on the spot, when a sand laden lorry collided into his bike at Vagga here on June 3.

The deceased has been identified as Dhanush (19), a resident of Keddalike. He was the only son of Nithyananda and Sunitha Poojary and was studying in Vivekananda Polytechnic College Puttur.

According to police, Nithyananda along with his wife and son Dhanush went to Balepuni to attend a function in their relatives house. After attending the function they came back by taxi, as Nithyananda was to attend a training programme at BC Road, he alighted at BC road along with Dhanush, Sunitha proceeded home by same taxi and Dhanush went home on his bike which he had parked at BC road.

Unfortunately at Vagga, a sand laden Lorry collided into Dhanush’s Bike. Dhanush was killed on the spot due to heavy loss of blood. When his mother was passing by on the same road, she saw people gathered on the road and got down from the taxi to see why people had gathered. She was shocked to see her son lying in a pool of blood on the road.

Dhanush’s body was shifted to the hospital in Punjalkatte for post mortem.

A case has been registered in the Bantwal police station.
