The murder might have been executed in Dakshina Kannada with the thought that detection could be difficult. But the district’s police proved their efficiency by cracking the case within days.
Nappate Rafiq aka Muhammad Rafiq (26) of Attegoli in Kayyar village near Uppala and the car driver, Padmanabha (24) aka Paddu of Bayikatte in Paivalike, both in Kasaragod district of Kerala, have been arrested. More persons, including those who directly or indirectly helped the alleged killers, are likely to be held soon.
The arrests were made based on the confessions of Muhammad Iqbal aka Ikku, a rickshaw driver who helped the culprits to escape in his vehicle.
