Bantwal: Driver Suffers Heart Attack in Motion, Yet Saves Situation

Bantwal: Timmappa Gowda (55), a driver from Padnur, showed remarkable presence of mind in spite of suffering a heart attack while driving on Saturday morning.

While driving a vehicle supplying milk to various outlets and returning from Kundadka, he felt the pain near the Kallakatta bridge at Meginapete. In a quick reflex action, he managed to bring the vehicle to a halt by veering it off the road into cliff beside the road.

This prevented it from crashing into any vehicle or injuring pedestrians. He was hospitalized at once and is being treated.
