Bantwal: Holiday Fun Claims Life of SSLC Student by Drowning in Netravati River

Bantwal: A student of SSLC from SVS High School lost his life while having gone for swimming in river Netravati at Maindala in navoor in the taluk on Sunday.

Abdul Munaf (16), son of A Muhammad and Ruqia of the same place, had gone with his friends to enjoy the weekend holiday. Among them Munaf alone had gone quite ahead in the river. Suddenly, he got caught in the river currents and went missing.

As his companions shouted for help, passersby ran to his rescue and pulled him out. But by then he had already breathed his last, said eyewitnesses.

The body was sent to the government hospital in Bantwal for an autopsy. The rural police have registered a case.
