He had begun his teaching career at Ganapti PU College in Mangaluru. After serving for many years, he had retired as its principal. Having spent a few years in retirement, he had been invited by the Jain Swamiji of Moodbidri to take over as the principal of the Swastishri college there two years ago.

He had served in some institutions and organizations also. With a great sense of history and concern for the conservation of heritage, he had held ‘Save Heritage Week’ at various places in the two districts, under the auspices of the Karnataka History Academy.

He had travelled with his wife to Bengaluru and had just returned early Tuesday morning to Panemangaluru. After breakfast, he had written a composition and was getting ready to go to the college. Suddenly he complained of chest pain and was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru.

Since his condition was quite alarming, he is said to have been put on ventilator. However, his life could not be saved.
