Bantwal: Rayi Youth Gets Crushed between Two Buses at Majestic in Bengaluru, Dies

Bantwal: Manjunath Poojary (25), son of Chandappa Poojary of Poojartodi in Rayi in Koila village in the taluk, died in tragic circumstances in Bengaluru, according to family sources.

He worked as a driver with his uncle Shridhar Poojary’s firm ‘Kanti Sweets’ in Kasturba Nagar in the state capital. After visiting his native village last week, he had travelled from B C Road in a Bengaluru-bound bus on Sunday morning.

He had got down at the Majestic bus-stand and was crossing the road within the KSRTC compound. A bus, after knocking him down, also rammed into another one. Poojary got crushed betwen the two and died as a result.

A case was registered at the Upparpet police station. His mortal remains were brought to his house in Rayi for final rites on Monday night.

He is survived by parents and two sisters.
