Bantwal: River Netravati Flows at Near-dangerous Level with Heavy Rains

Bantwal: The taluk’s tahsildar has informed that river Netravati’s level touched the 8.4-metre mark on Sunday, as rains continued to hit the ghat areas and peripheries.

The 9-metre mark is considered to be hazardous. If rains continue to hit, even that mark could be touched by Monday, say the residents.

Because of high flow of water, the gates of AMR dam at Shamboor were opened. The immediate residents and those living downstream were warned by sounding sirens.
