Belagavi: Pejavar Swamiji’s car attacked

Belagavi, October 20, 2015 (TH): The car used by Sri Vishvesha Teertha Swamiji of Pejavar Math, Udupi, and two Tempo Travellers used by his disciples were attacked by unidentified miscreants in the city in the early hours of Monday.

However, there was nobody in these vehicles as the Swamiji had gone to the house of one of his disciples in Sadashiv Nagar in the city in another car, leaving his car in front of the Krishna Mutt. His disciples were resting at the Mutt and in the adjacent Vidyarathi Nilaya on RPD College Road under Tilakwadi Police Station limits when the incident occurred.

The Swamiji is in the city since Sunday night on a three-day paryaya sanchar, which commenced on Monday.

With the disciples and the local hosts of the Swamji obliging to the police request not to inform the media about the incident, it did not come to light immediately but on Tuesday afternoon.

Reliable sources close to the Swamiji siad some miscreants pelted stones at the car and Tempo Travellers parked in front of Krishna Mutt at around 2-30 a.m. on Monday. The vehicles suffered minor damages to the windows.

After receipt of the information about the incident, the police requested the disciples of the Swamiji to maintain calm and not to inform the media. Subsequently, they said they would take the vehicles and get it repaired. Accordingly, the police took the vehicles and returned after getting them repaired. They also produced a bill for about Rs.4,000 as charges for repair and collected it, sources said, adding that no complaint was registered in connection with the incident.

A “shobha yatra” was taken out on Monday evening, which remained incident free.

Petty incident: Swamiji

Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji ignored the attack on his car and two Tempo Travellers. Asked if he suspected the hand of those questioning his campaign against cow slaughter, he said the incident could have been handiwork of some miscreants and not Muslims. He said many Muslims hold him in high esteem and accorded warm reception during his ‘paryaya sanchar.’

He said various Islamic organisations invite him to participate in their programmes. Recently, he participated in one such programme where Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was present: “I don’t think Muslims have done this, nobody should apply communal colour to such petty incidents,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Tilakwadi police have taken suo motu cognisance of the incident and registered a case and looking out for the miscreants.

  1. “nobody should apply communal colour to such petty incidents” – Report quoting Shree Pehaavara Swamiji.

Every political illiterate on this forum should read this as a lesson and try to understand how real secular people manage things in life. Here is a real physical attack involving property damage of a famous religious figure in a state governed by Congress. Still, Swamiji has handled it exactly the way any reasonable, unbiased, peace-loving person should have handled it. He didn’t give it any communal color. See, how he didn’t even take bait from media who were trying to link this incident to his views on cow slaughter!! Now, compare this to imaginary church attacks and reactions that followed. Or, see how ‘ink’ attacks and some ‘heckling’ incidents have been blown out of proportion by Secular-Islamist alliance!!

    • See, how he didn’t even take bait from media who were trying to link this incident to his views on cow slaughter!! – Rampa

Poor SIMPLE minded Rampa! Some unknowns car gets dented a bit. Maybe somebody tried to ‘jimmy’ in. The 3rd outer coat doesn’t even look like it has flaked by a micron or two. And our Phoreen Rampa brings in his COW? Doesn’t our very esteemed now-all Rampa know that Cow slaughter has been banned in India from AGES and it is ONLY buffaloes that are being laid down to rest – and used for.. well.. you know what!

Ambaa.. what is Akhanda Bharatha coming to?

  2. “nobody should apply communal colour to such petty incidents”

It is a statement to be expected from a Golwalkar disciple who used his prestige in the communal polarization of South Kanara.

  3. I appreciate the Swamiji’s gesture which shows his sense of maturity and responsibility.
@Roy, I could not understand your comment. What is wrong in Swamiji’s statement? Should he had declared this as a communal act and blown it out of proportion to maintain peace?

  4. Self-hating Roy’s comments should give a very good idea on how this crony-secular-Islamist alliance works in targeting sanaathana groups. It doesn’t matter they would ALWAYS blame sanaathana groups. In a way, it all makes sense as dishonesty runs in their blood.

    • In a way, it all makes sense as dishonesty runs in their blood. – Rampa to Roy

Ha! Is that why you did ಪಧ್ರಾಡ್ to USA so you could ‘get’ some triple distilled Vodka or JW in your blood to purge the ‘inherent & intrinsic’ dishonesty prevailing in proper Indian blood?

Well, those blue-blooded JW fellas are more dishonest than anybody else around. Please don’t delude yourself. Take a look around…… Afghanistan, Syria + Iraq (greater Levant), Lybia etc? You poor fellas have been kicked OUT of almost EVERY war/conflict zone! ALL we hear are boasts! And if MOST of the news around is to be believed, the Russians have achieved MUCH more in exterminating vermin in Iraq/Syria in some 10 days than the lame duck US has – OVER a year or so.

poor Rampa.. Poor Sacchu…. all Sadsacks! 🙂

      • Most of Joker Praveena Pinto’s responses are gibberish and hard to understand. He is such a simpleton. Irrespective of the topics discussed here, he would either blame Modiji or Doddanna!! I never thought that the ‘bhagna swapna’ would still haunt him after more than 20 years!! Even in response to Pejawara swamiji, he has to bring up Afghanistana, Iraq, Syria and everything he learned over the internet!! LOL

        • Most of Joker Praveena Pinto’s responses are gibberish and hard to understand. – Rampa

Well, as I have said before, IF you weren’t FORCED to flee your Akhanda Bharatha with fuzz on your face AFTER sitting in the SAME 3rd grade or so, you would have understood stuff.

          What a sad case – poor 🙂

Oh, and as your PS said – “May the FORCE be with you”. Lol…. WHAT a silly line from *wars! Which FORCE, what force? WHO force? A force multiplier? A force divider? … lol…. ONLY the script-writers can say (& that too in the context of *wars).

Lolooool! 🙂 Poor fella… his ‘Bhagna swapna’ swamps him. His ragtag Ministry & MP’s are BETTER known for motor-mouthing. They dropped the land bill like a hot potato. They tried to book Hardik Patel under ‘Sedition’. Lol… the Judge kicked it out! Hahahaha.

And oh, let me remind you – The Russians are proving to be decisive! Your Bumma is dithering! Probably he doesn’t want more idiots shooting people up in the US AFTER a proper WAR with THE monster it created! Hey Joker.. can we dwell a tad on this topic, plz?

  5. Apparently many people are unaware that the Pejawar Swami has played a part for the last five decades in the communal polarization of South Kanara. Is it responsible of the Pejawar Swami to hold an event calling for a ban on cow slaughter when people across India are being killed for eating beef and transporting cows by Hindutva hooligans.

  6. The Communal polarization is not unique to coastal region. It is a national phenomenon – Thanks to communal politics by ’44-seats’ party over the past 5 decades. Why do you think a right-wing party managed to crush the previous crony-secular party in 2014 elections? Well, don’t try explaining this to religious bigots who were raised on a steady diet of communal hatred and ‘vote bank’ politics. No wonder they hate Pejaawaara Swamiji or any other formidable opposition from sanaathana dharma!!!

    • Original R.Pai – “No wonder they hate Pejaawaara Swamiji or any other formidable opposition from sanaathana dharma!!!”
