Beltangady: Drinking Water in Storage Tank at Home Contaminated – Evil Motive Suspected

Beltangady: When Umarabba, a resident of Basadi Nayikatte in Neria village, went to take out water from the synthetic storage tank installed for drinking water on Saturday, he had a shocking surprise.

He could sense a foul smell. When he inspected the tank, he detected a thick fluid added to water. Some miscreants are suspected to have poured some toxic stuff out of spite or revenge.

Fortunately, the morning tea was prepared from the stock of water already stored at home. Hence the mischief could have taken place in the night.

There is a strong apprehension that the additive could be poisonous. Hence the water sample has been sent for lab analysis. The nature of fluid is yet to be ascertained.

A case has been registered in the town police station.
