Beltangady: Town Panchayat Elects New President, VP for Remaining 8 Months

Beltangady: Nalini Vishwanath and Mamata Vishwanath have been elected president and vice president respectively of the town panchayat here on Tuesday.

The posts had fallen vacant following the resignation of the earlier incumbents. They will hold the posts for the remaining eight months of tenure. Nalini had served as vice president in the immediate past.

The election process was conducted by tahsildar B S Puttashetty. Deputy tahsildar Chennappa Gowda, Narayana Gowda, chief officer Jacintha Lewis were present.

Standing committee chairperson Muguli Narayana Rao and other members D Jagadish, Shubha Sharat, Santosh Kumar, Rajesh, Lalita, James D’Souza, Mustar Jan Mehmood, Kavita and others took part in the election.
