Bengaluru: 4 Involved in Post-Tipu Jayanti Violence in Nellyadi Get Anticipatory Bail

Bengaluru: Four persons who had evaded arrest in connection with assault of a Nellyadi resident some time ago have been granted anticipatory bail by the high court.

The incident was reportedly a sequel to the violence that broke out in Madikeri in connection with Tipu Jayanti observance there.

A single-judge bench presided over by Justice A V Chandrashekhar gave the ruling on conditions of providing the lower court with bonds for Rs 75,000 each and that they should present themselves at the related police station.

The advocate for the accused argued that since two other accused had already obtained bail and hence the applicants also be considered.
