Bengaluru: Auto Driver Fined Rs 8,250 for Refusing to Take Passenger to Destination

Bengaluru: In an instance involving the highest amount of penalty imposed on any auto driver in the city, tlhe IV ACMM court has slapped a fine of Rs 8,250 on Vijaya Kumar, driver of auto no. KA 02 D 3904.

He was facing the charge of having declined to take a certain passenger to the required destination. A woman has filed a complaint in this regard to the traffic police providing them with the number of the auto rickshaw.

The traffic police who investigated found that that he had several complaints filed against him, alleging similar instances of refusal as well as demanding excess fare.

After hearing the case, the court, besides imposing the fine, also gave him an advice to be passenger-friendly in future.
