Bengaluru celebrates Bakrid amid heavy police deployment
Bengaluru, Sep 13, 2016, DHNS: 15,000 police personnel including KSRP, RAF and CRPF have been deployed in the affected areas of the city.
A day after violence and arson, an uneasy calm prevailed on Tuesday morning in Bengaluru.
Police have urged residents not to believe messages being circulated on and social media and call 100 to verify.
Situation in Bengaluru is totally calm. Strict action will be taken against vandals, tweeted Bengaluru Police.
Police also shared an emergency WhatsApp number 9480801000, and has asked public to connect with them.
15,000 police personnel including KSRP, RAF and CRPF have been deployed in the affected areas of the city.
On the occasion of Bakrid, namaz was offered peacefully under heavy police deployment across the city.
Muslim Clergy requested people to keep calm and not to roam around after the namaz.
