Bengaluru: Drunk Driver Rams Vehicles at Traffic Signal- Three injured

Bengaluru: Three persons have been seriously injured and four vehicles were badly damaged when a driver rammed three other vehicles at Katriguppe signal in south Bengaluru here on February 21.

The incident took place at 5:30 PM when vehicles were waiting for the traffic signal to turn green. Tejas (36) who was allegedly driving a Indica car under the influence of alcohol was unable to control his speeding car.

The car hit an auto rickshaw, injuring driver Mohan and passenger Srikanth Achar and then went on to hit a Maruti Swift and a two-wheeler. Pavan Kumar who was riding the two-wheeler also sustained injuries on his legs.

Passersby rushed to the rescue of the injured people and later alerted the police.

Tejas, who was also drunk, informed the police that one of his friends was driving the car and had abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot after the incident. Police have detained Tejas for further questioning.
