Bengaluru: KSDL to launch ‘Mysore Sandal Centennial’ Soap as Part of Centenary Celebrations – Veronica Cornelio

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited as part of its centenary celebrations will be launching a new product, Mysore Sandal Centennial, said Veronica Cornelio, Chairperson of KSDL. She was addressing a press meet at Bengaluru here, on November 18.

KSDL will be completing its 100 glorious years on May 10, 2016. To mark the centenary celebrations of KSDL, the Mysore Sandal Centennial soap, weighing 100 grams, will be launched. The premium soap will cost Rs 100.

The centenary celebrations will be celebrated in Bengaluru in a grand manner. The discussions and planning of the event are under way. The KSDL has aimed to increase its turnover to Rs 450 crore per annum. Amid competition from multinational brands, the products launched by KSDL has an effective market.

There is a scarcity of sandalwood oil in the state. Farmers are being supported to grow sandalwood trees, by giving then 1,00,000 sandalwood plants to promote growing of sandalwood trees. Presently, sandalwood oil is being purchased from Kerala, Tamil Nadu and other states to meet the scarcity, she added.

KSDL presents dividend of Rs 9 crore to CM Siddaramaiah

A dividend cheque of rupees 9 crores was presented to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah by Veronica Cornelio. The organisation also donated rupees 50 lakhs towards Prime Ministers Relief Fund. Minister R V Deshpande, K J George and Managing Director of KSDL Keshavmurthy were present.
