The feline has been tranquilised after a day long operation, and the three injured persons, including a veterinarian, have been shifted to a nearby hospital, they said.

It attacked a man trying to escape by climbing a gate. As he tried to ward it off, forest officials fired shots and the animal escaped.

The feline was first spotted by CCTV cameras inside Vibgyor School at around 4:13 am. The school was shut today as it was Sunday.

School authorities immediately informed forest officials and police who rushed to the spot.
The leopard had escaped from the school premises during the day and was hiding inside nearby bushes.

As authorities were in the midst of operations to capture it, it re-entered the school building by scaling a compound wall, officials said, adding that it has now been tranquillised.
The scene of the attack was captured by television channels which had arrived at the spot to cover the operation.

Police had a hard time controlling the crowd that had gathered at the spot.

  1. The lack of professional training is quite evident in this case. I don’t know how many more years needed for our country to get professionally trained folks to handle these situations!!!

  2. As I had rightly expected, poor leopard got more panic and agitated due to unprofessional and foolish behavior of ‘reporters’ and onlookers!! In fact, leopard was much more reasonable and mature as compared to these geniuses with cameras!! You can see the video and decide for yourself!! LOL LOL This reminds me of an incident when two wild elephants made it to Mysooru city a few years ago!! The behavior of people shouting, chasing and throwing sticks and bricks at elephants was beyond embarrassing.

Sir,What about those pictures in which Lord Shiva is sometimes pictured wearing a leopard skin?

Does it amount to animal right violation?

  3. “What about those pictures in which Lord Shiva is sometimes pictured wearing a leopard skin?” writes Sharia Shaikh fully exploiting the preferential treatment given in Indian society where it’s okay to comment on sanaathana gods while any comments on ‘peaceful’ person immediately get censored!!

    Dear pro-Jihaad Shaikh,
I’m opposed to all animal abuse in the name of food, religion and entertainment. I know – it’s very hard for you to understand as you believe and follow a medieval political ideology that is creating so much violence and destruction all over the world. By the way, did you try cutting your fingers using a very sharp knife as described in your book? Remember – you won’t feel any pain!! smiles…
