Bengaluru: Load-shedding cut down by an hour

Bengaluru, (dhns) : The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) company on Monday announced that load-shedding in the City will be reduced by an hour in the City, from four to three hours in residential areas.

The power cut for industrial feeders will also come down from two hours to one hour a day.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Bescom Managing Director Pankajkumar Pandey said that power scenario in the State has improved.

“The demand normally in September is 3,800 MW, but on Monday we got 3,300 MW. So the shortage is 15 per cent. The talks with the industries has also been fruitful. After they agreed to shift their holidays, the power scenario has improved.

We hope that by this weekend power supply will improve and load-shedding will reduce drastically or even stopped.” he said.

On Sunday also there was no power cuts in most places. In some places it was very minimal.

Both the units of Udupi Power Corporation Limited (1,100 MW) have started functioning and supplying to power to the grid. One unit of Ballari Thermal Power Station (430MW) has also started generating power steadily.

Power generation from wind energy (350 MW) has also improved. One unit of Raichur Thermal Station will also get operational soon. This too will improve the power supply. The revised timings of the feeders can be accessed on
