Bengaluru: Pub-owner of Mangaluru Origin Shot at, Lies in Critical State in Hospital

Bengaluru: Chetan aka Akhtar Sami (42), partner of ‘Times Pub’ on Residency Road was shot at by two unknown persons around the weekend.

He is said to be of Mangaluru origin, who runs the pub in partnership with his friends.

They had come in the guise of customers around 10 pm on Sunday and ordered beer. Chetan, who was spending time with friends, was about to leave the pub around 10-45 pm.

Apparently waiting for him and watching his movement, the strangers followed him and shot two round of fire at him. They are said to have fled at once. One bullet has pierced through Chetan’s back and another hit the wall.

Chetan, who collapsed immediately, was taken to Mallya hospital. His condition is said to be critical.

The motive for the attack or the identity of the assailants is not known. It could be because of personal enmity or rivalry, said the police. They are studying the CCTV camera footage and have expressed the hope of nabbing the culprits soon.
