Bengaluru: Rebel Candidature – BJP Expels Former Union Minister Basanagouda Yatnal

Bengaluru: All the three mainstream parties in state politics, the BJP, Congress and JD(S), have been going through rough weather ahead of the legislature council elections to be held on Dec 27.

A recent report says that the JD(S) has managed to douse the flames of rebellion to some extent.

A series of disciplinary steps are likely to be seen in these parties very soon. The first to act is the BJP. Its state unit has expelled former Union minister Basanagouda Patil Yatnal from the party for six years. He has contested as a rebel candidate from the Vijayapura-Bagalkot constituency. The electors are representatives from the local institutions.

The order will come into immediate effect.
