Bengaluru: Teenager Pays With Life for Fatal Dance Move

Bengaluru: A 19 year old was happily dancing with his friends at a procession marking the village festival at Pattalamma Layout in Adugodi when he was killed for allegedly stepping on the foot of a person on February 14.

According to sources, the deceased has been identified as Venkatesh, a resident of Ejipura. Four intoxicated men were also dancing next to Venkatesh when he stepped on the foot of one of the drunken men, triggering a verbal exchange, which soon escalated into a fist fight. One of the four men is said to have stabbed Venkatesh on his thighs and later his stomach with a knife. Friends of Venkatesh, Prashanth and Louis were also attacked by the intoxicated men.

Though Venkatesh was rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries due to loss of blood. BS Lokesh Kumar, DCP (south) said, “We have booked a case of murder and registered an FIR. One person has been detained and we are trying to find the others.”

“Preliminary investigation doesn’t point to the two groups knowing each other,” Lokesh said ruling out old-rivalry as the motive behind the murder.
