Bengaluru: Tiff over Rs 50 Kills Man

Bengaluru: “While money can’t buy happiness, it certainly lets you choose your own form of misery.” These words quoted by Groucho Marx, an American comedian and television star are proved yet again in a chilling murder case, which entitled a youth for a lifetime of misery.

According to the police, Shivraj (27) was stabbed to death by two of his friends following a tiff while gambling in Srirampuram area on December 20. The accused have been identified as Shivu and Manja alias Koli Manja. The three were playing a game that involved wagering of money.

Manja started verbally abusing Shivraj as he had cheated him of Rs 50. This soon followed a fight and in a fit of rage Shivraj was stabbed by Manja and Shivu who later fled the spot. Locals noticed Shivraj lying in a pool of blood, they alerted the police and rushed him to the nearest hospital. Shivraj failed to respond to any treatment and later died.

The police have managed to arrest Manja, but Shivu is absconding. Manja was a drug addict, said the police.
