Bengaluru: UGC de-recognises Karnataka State Open University

Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Open University  (KSOU), Mysuru,  was  de-recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC)  on Thursday.

The  public  notice released by the UGC,  on June 16, 2015, stated that   KSOU  was flouting norms, directives and  guidelines of distance learning programmes issued by the UGC and Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.

The notice also stated that  KSOU  had not been recognised by the UGC  beyond 2012-13.

Students are cautioned against taking up any professional/technical programmes  in the University.
