Bengaluru: Veerappa Moily Reasserts No Diversion of Netravati Involved in Yettinahole Project

Bengaluru: Chikkaballapur MP and former Union minister of law Veerappa Moily paid a visit to the home of Nadoja Dr D Javaregowda on Sunday to enquire after his health. The latter has been indisposed over the past days.

Speaking to mediapersons after the visit who posed questions on the Yettinahole project, he said that the people of Tumkur, Bengaluru rural, Chikkaballapur, Kolar and Chitradurga districts had been facing dire shortage of water. It was only intended to utilize the excess water flowing into the sea from river Netravati during the monsoon months.

The water which would otherwise go in waste would be collected in pits for the benefit of the needy and it was certainly not a plan to divert Netravati, he asserted.
