Bengaluru: Waitress Arrested For Obstructing Cops From Discharging Duty

Bengaluru: A lady was arrested for obstructing police personnel from discharging their duty here, on December 19.

The arrested is identified as Dimple alias Dimpy, employed as a waitress of a ladies service bar in Wilson Garden, Koramangala.

According to the police, at about 1am, Dimple was returning home on a two-wheeler near Double Road, Lalbagh. When she noticed that the police were checking for drunk driving, she attempted to turn and escape. She fell down in an attempt to do so.

The policemen helped her and lifted her vehicle. She refused to undergo the alcometer test and abused the cops with foul language when they took her keys.

She underwent the aclometer test when the cops promised to return the keys if she obliged. She attacked a policeman when he tried to videograph the incident.

The test revealed that she was heavily drunk. Constable Puttaraju lodged a complaint against her for attacking him, riding without a helmet and for not carrying valid documents, following which she was arrested.

Dimple was released from prison when she obtained bail on Monday, said the police.
