Bhatkal: A youth drowned in the Arabian Sea, while he had gone on a picnic with three other friends in the evening of Sunday, April 26.
The deceased, identified as Abdul Gaffar Shaikh (24), had gone for a picnic at the Jali Beach along with his three friends. Abdul drowned while taking a dip in the sea. He was carried away by strong waves while the other three were somehow saved by the locals and the coastal police on a boat.
Abdul’s body was recovered and sent for an autopsy at the Government hospital, Bhatkal.
All the four boys belonged to Haneefabad, Heble village in Bhatkal Taluk.
The Bhatkal police have registered the case.
