‘BJP Candidate used my Manifesto to win Assembly Elections’ – Srikar Prabhu

Mangaluru: “BJP candidate used my manifesto in which I had mentioned about renaming the Light House Hill Road to Mulki Sundar Ram Shetty Road if I would win the elections. During my house to house campaign, I had asked the voters to reject the BJP and Congress and vote for me to continue my service towards the society. In the coming days, my supporters will contest the Corporation elections and I will contest the upcoming Parliamentary elections. My principles will not change even if I win the Parliamentary elections”, said Independent candidate Srikar Prabhu in a press meet held at his office, Bunts Hostel here on May 16.

Addressing the mediapersons Srikar Prabhu said, “One particular community had decided to defeat J R Lobo in the Mulki Sundar Ram Shetty road issue, so I thought of taking up this issue in my election manifesto. While I was campaigning I had received very good support, I requested the voters to reject the other party candidates and facilitate my victory in the assembly elections. The BJP candidate had also taken up the road issue and campaigned against J R Lobo which led to his defeat in the Assembly elections.”

Srikar Prabhu also said, “I have received a good response and am now in fourth place. In the coming days, I will insist my supporters to contest the Corporation elections. In the assembly elections, I have received 861 votes which is just the beginning. In the coming days, I will work to be in the number one place. My work will continue in preparation for the forthcoming Parliamentary elections.”

When questioned on people rejecting him with just 861 votes, Srikar Prabhu said, “This is the beginning. In the coming days, I will get more support from the people.”

When asked about the hacking of EVMs, Srikar Prabhu said, “EVMs were perfect and the results were also perfect. There is no doubt with the results.”
