The programme began with an invocation. Addressing the gathering Capt Ganesh Karnik said, “On September 18, in the Uri terror attack 17 soldiers have died and more than 30 injured but as per the latest news three more of the injured soldiers breathed their last today Sept 20. These 20 heroes have sacrificed their lives, so that the entire nation can sleep in peace. So far 7000 soldiers have laid down their lives while protecting the country. To see that we live peacefully and protect us from enemies, our brave soldiers have sacrificed their lives. What are the feelings of the parents of the deceased soldiers when their young sons lose their life for the sake of the country?”

Karnik further said that there is condemnation from many other countries for the attack in Uri which took 20 lives. With the global condemnation for the Uri attack, countries have expressed their solidarity with India. He also said that we all should forget party differences and join hands to fight against terrorism. The entire country is with you. The Director general of military operations has openly challenged and that said that, we have all the capacity to accept the challenge and we will give a befitting reply to this attack. In 24 hours, developed countries such as US, Germany, Russia, Japan and France have condemned the terror attack and said that they will support India against such attack and if such attacks continue, a collective action will be against the country directing such attacks. Pakistan is called as a rogue state producing terrorists, he said.

There are various stories behind every martyr, one of the soldier’s sister’s wedding is fixed and the family was in a celebration mood, what will be the fate of the parents at this moment? Another soldier’s wife is pregnant. Another soldier’s sister wants to pursue higher education in IIT Delhi. We need to help the girl to realize her dream, he said.

  1. Thank (imaginary) God that we have BJP, RSS and other desha bhakthas who are neither afraid nor apologetic to show desha prema. Where are Congress, Campus Front of India and other questionable organizations? Are they worried that they might offend the feelings of ‘vote bank’? Prince Raul was very quick to rush to JNU campus and show his full support to a group shouting anti-indian slogans. Where is he now? Oh well…

    • Thank (Imaginary) God that we have BJP, RSS and desha Bhaktas….. – Namme Rampe

And I thank my F-16 in which I fly to Pilikula – my dream job! And hey, this ain’t “imaginary” at ALL! Good going, ya, Lallu.

  2. Good initiative but I would like to highlight a few things here which I have heard from serving paramilitary personnel (in this case CRPF). Compared to the Army, the Paramilitary Forces have more to lose than to gain. The job benefits are very low in comparison to the Army whereas the chances of death on duty are considerably high. As we know, CRPF is deployed in Naxal affected and other hostile areas where the chances of death per se are very high according to statistics. I agree that media coverage for these deaths is not extensive, hence it is not really known to general public.
Hence I feel that, even though tribute should be paid to our brave martyrs in case of such unfortunate events, let us not forget our paramilitary personnel who get martyred protecting us from internal enemies.

  3. At last they did one ‘good deed’ for the nation. It would make more sense when ‘moral police’ go to the border and do some real job of policing our borders from Pakistanis.

    Jai Hind
